Heads-up: Spoilers for the third episode of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
Episode 3 concluded with a major cliffhanger and revealed the premier party of adventurers who will split off from the main group to embark on their independent quest, apart from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table consists of the determined fighter (portrayed by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Considering 13 cast members, it was clear from the outset that keeping everyone at one table would be unworkable.
This explains, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Prelude, connecting the individual narratives before dividing into three smaller tables: Warriors, Planners, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
As described by the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for participants who are drawn to a classically intense battle-oriented gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Initially, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might appear unsuited, but the actions of episode 3 show why these five characters are best suited for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the party has a clear idea where to proceed after a violent opening clash with the enemy group.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose death started the story’s plot—manipulated the enemy for his selfish purposes, breaking into the hidden lair, striking the character, and swiping all the powerful objects to auction.
The traitor then cleared his debts and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, above the city, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each member has a individual motive to exit the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the close ally and trusted friend, wants vengeance.
- The knowledgeable figure knows the region and warns that it is a dangerous environment.
- The warrior and Wicander, having disobeyed his house’s orders to eliminate the fighter and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- But, their reputation as prominent individuals in the powerful family could assist the party access areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, The fighter vowed a life debt to The cleric for his deliverance and will now follow him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are wanted by the rulers that govern the setting for a multiple motives, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The rogue and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and The healer defied House Halovar and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- Teor is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This means them little choice but to head to the northern region in pursuit of Casimir.
